Item arrived promptly, well packaged, and looks exactly as shown in the listing. It also came with two glass tubes for the heater cartridges, the alcohol burner, two wicks and an extra set of o-rings for the heater seals. It took longer to remove the glass tubes than it did to install it on the engine and the machine was ready to go.
For the price I am completely satisfied with this item. I am amazed that the air can actually heat up and cool that quickly, but obviously it can. I am somewhat surprised at the power of the air heating and cooling. This is physics that you can touch. I hope my grandkids get it.
This is a great office desk piece or a neat way to show children how an engine works. The components all look great, so that it works just as well as industrial art as as an educational tool.
This Stirling Engine is a lot bigger than I expected and seems to have a superlative build quality. Resting on a sturdy 1/4 inch base plate it seems to use well put together; the risers and nicely machined flywheels shine. The screws are squarely set into the base plate and there is no noticible wobble during operation. The LED blinks as the engine gains more speed. You can use a multi meter or Oscilloscope to monitor the electric output. Parts are machined and no sharp edges were found.
It's also a nice conversation piece or demonstration of applied science and engineering.
